AN INCOMPLETE REVENGE, Winspear's fifth outing, will not disappoint readers, with its skillful intersection of character development, historical detail and intricate plotting. I was surprised to see that I only got this book 8 days ago, and I already finished it this afternoon. This is my favorite Maisie Dobbs installment so far. In Journey to Munich, Dobbs travels to Nazi Germany to retrieve a captured British subject imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp. Every page of this novel is dense with affectionately rendered period detail. It is early autumn of 1931, and as these cases all seem to occur during the hop harves. Either way, I am looking forward to reading more Maisie Dobbs books! But there are several things about them that I find annoying.
